Insurance Protection for Renters

Insurance Coverage for Renters

As a renter, you will pick from three insurance packages during checkout. These policies offer liability protection and cover physical damage to the rented RV due to covered accidents. Coverage limits, costs, and deductibles vary based on the year and class of the RV rented and the chosen insurance package. All insurance details and prices will be presented during the booking process before you commit to a rental.

Any damage sustained to the interior of the RV during a rental period will be charged from the security deposit, and any overages are your responsibility. Normal wear and tear, maintenance, personal effects, or mechanical issues are excluded from these coverages.

Can I Use My Personal Insurance?

Personal insurance carried by you will be in excess of the insurance provided by Good Sam RV Rentals, as our insurance is primary during the rental period. If you are renting a towable RV, you will need to have your tow vehicle insured to meet state guidelines. The package you purchase through Good Sam RV Rentals does not extend to your tow vehicle.

When Does Coverage Begin & End?

Coverage is only valid during the rental period. The rental period is defined as the time when the keys are exchanged with the renter at the start until the keys are turned back over to you at the end. If the rental period needs to be extended for any reason, you will suggest a change to the dates of the trip, and the new terms will have to be accepted by the owner. Insurance coverage is only valid for the dates booked through Good Sam RV rentals.

What If a Damage Occurs During My Rental?

If damage transpires during your rental period, contact the RV owner as soon as possible. Our claims department will contact you for photos and more information about the damage.

If an insurance claim is filed, an insurance adjuster may reach out for more information. You are responsible for the deductible.

If the total cost of repair does not meet the deductible amount, you will need to pay out-of-pocket for the total of the repair charges.
